The Sportscene Internship Program is designed to provide young professionals with a structured learning experience in the retail and fashion industry. Interns will work closely with industry experts across different business units, gaining valuable knowledge in areas such as fashion retail, marketing, merchandising, digital content creation, e-commerce, finance, and supply chain management.
Interns will have the opportunity to participate in exciting projects, engage with leading fashion brands, and contribute to Sportscene’s goal of delivering trend-setting sportswear and lifestyle products to consumers.
- Assist with retail operations, store management, and visual merchandising.
- Support marketing campaigns, including digital content, influencer partnerships, and brand activations.
- Work on e-commerce projects, helping manage online product listings, promotions, and customer engagement.
- Conduct market research and analyze consumer trends to influence product selection.
- Assist in buying and merchandising by working with the product development team.
- Engage with the social media team, helping create content and track engagement metrics.
- Learn about supply chain and logistics, ensuring efficient stock management and distribution.
- Participate in workshops, training sessions, and mentorship programs led by industry professionals.
- Support administrative tasks, including data entry, reporting, and internal communication.

To qualify for the Sportscene Internship Program, applicants must meet the following criteria:
- Education:
- Must have a National Diploma or Degree in a relevant field (Retail, Fashion, Marketing, Business Management, Finance, IT, etc.)
- Age: Typically between 18 and 35 years old.
- Skills & Attributes:
- Strong passion for fashion, retail, and sneaker culture.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
- Creativity and innovation in marketing and design.
- Basic computer literacy, including MS Office and social media tools.
- Problem-solving abilities and willingness to learn.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced retail environment.
- Residency: Must be based in or willing to relocate to Cape Town, Western Cape.
- Work Authorization: Must be a South African citizen or hold valid work authorization.
- Availability: Must be available for the full duration of the internship (typically 12 months).
- Monthly stipend during the internship period.
