The SAPU Learnership Programme is designed to provide theoretical training and practical workplace experience in various fields related to policing, security, and administration. This initiative helps unemployed youth gain valuable skills to enhance their employability in law enforcement and public safety sectors.

- Public Administration & Office Management
- Human Resources (HR) & Industrial Relations
- Finance & Supply Chain Management
- Communication, Public Relations & Community Engagement
- Legal & Compliance Services
Learners will gain hands-on experience in their chosen fields through:
- Attending structured classroom-based training
- Assisting in daily operational tasks within SAPU or related agencies
- Learning law enforcement procedures, safety regulations, and public administration
- Supporting crime prevention, investigation, and security initiatives
- Conducting research, case studies, and report writing
- Engaging with communities to promote public safety awareness
- Participating in mentorship and skills development workshops
- South African citizenship
- A Matric Certificate (Grade 12) or equivalent qualification
- No prior full-time work experience (internship or voluntary experience allowed)
- Strong communication, teamwork, and problem-solving skills
- Willingness to work in law enforcement, public service, or administration
- Physically and mentally fit for law enforcement and security-related fields (where applicable)
- Ability to pass background checks and security clearances (for policing-related learnerships)
- Candidates from previously disadvantaged backgrounds and persons with disabilities are encouraged to apply.
- The learnership programme is based in various SAPU offices and partner organizations across South Africa.
- Successful learners may be considered for further studies, permanent employment, or placement in law enforcement agencies.
