Job Description
As an SABC Intern, you will work closely with industry professionals to develop practical skills in your chosen field. The program provides structured on-the-job training, mentorship, and skills development to help interns gain industry experience and improve their employability.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in the production of television and radio content, including scripting, filming, editing, and broadcasting.
- Support newsrooms, current affairs teams, and digital media units in content research and creation.
- Engage in journalistic writing, news reporting, and content curation.
- Assist with social media management and digital marketing strategies.
- Work closely with media professionals on video production, graphic design, and sound engineering.
- Gain hands-on experience in broadcast technology, camera operations, and post-production editing.
- Participate in research and development for content innovation and audience engagement strategies.
- Learn about corporate functions, such as human resources, finance, legal, and administration in a media environment.

Requirements
To be considered for the SABC Internship Program, applicants must meet the following criteria:
- Education:
- A National Diploma, Degree, or equivalent qualification in a relevant field (e.g., Media Studies, Journalism, Communications, IT, Marketing, Finance, etc.).
- Age: Between 18 and 35 years old.
- Skills & Competencies:
- Passion for media, broadcasting, and digital content creation.
- Strong communication and writing skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced media environment.
- Basic knowledge of social media, video production, or news reporting (advantageous).
- Proficiency in MS Office, digital platforms, and content management systems is an advantage.
- A strong work ethic, teamwork skills, and a willingness to learn.
- Work Authorization: Must be a South African citizen or hold valid work authorization.
- Availability: Willing to commit to the full 12- to 24-month internship program.
