This 12-month program is designed for South African youth interested in gaining hands-on experience and foundational knowledge in the wholesale and retail sector. The Wholesale & Retail SETA Funded Learnership provides a structured learning experience that combines theoretical training with practical, in-store exposure. Successful learners will be placed in retail outlets across all nine provinces of South Africa, enabling widespread participation and local economic growth.
The main goal of this program is to develop young individuals into confident and competent professionals who can contribute to the future of the retail industry.
- Assist customers on the shop floor and provide excellent customer service
- Participate in visual merchandising and maintain product displays
- Learn and apply English language fundamentals
- Gain competency in basic math applicable to retail operations
- Record transactions and process payments using the POS system
- Understand the wholesale and retail business environment
- Facilitate the opening of new customer accounts
- Monitor, maintain, and reduce stock losses
- Grade 12 / Senior Certificate (Matric or equivalent)
- South African citizenship
- No criminal record
- Open to candidates with or without disabilities
- A positive, "can-do" attitude
- Strong customer service orientation
- Proficient in English communication
- Self-motivated and eager to grow
- Willingness to learn and adapt
- Effective problem-solving abilities
- High level of adaptability in a retail setting
- A comprehensive and updated CV
- Certified copy of South African ID (not older than 3 months)
- Certified copies of Grade 12 certificate and/or other qualifications
- Academic transcript or tertiary results (if applicable)
