Air Traffic and Navigation Services (ATNS) invites South African youth to apply for its Trainee Programme for 2025 / 2026, offering 117 bursary opportunities to eligible and passionate individuals interested in air traffic services.
Successful candidates will study at the ATNS Aviation Training Academy, located in Bonaero Park, Gauteng. This intensive training programme equips trainees with practical and theoretical knowledge in air traffic management and related fields. Placement of candidates post-training will be determined by operational needs.
Applicants can apply to one of the following Air Traffic Services bursar streams:
- Air Traffic Services Officer (ATSO)
- Aeronautical Information Management Officer (AIMO)
- Target Generating Officer (TGO)
- Airport Management Centre (AMC) Liaison Officer
- Simulator Support Officer (SSO)
Each stream provides hands-on experience and specialized instruction under the guidance of industry experts.
To qualify, candidates must meet the following:
- Grade 12 / Matric Certificate with the following minimum passes:
- Pure Mathematics: Level 4 (or HG – D / SG – C and above)
- English: Level 4 (or HG – D / SG – C and above)
- South African citizen with a valid SA ID document
- Medically fit and willing to undergo a medical assessment (for ATSO stream)
- Unemployed South African youth
- Willing to relocate anywhere in South Africa
- Must attach Grade 12 results with your application
