Description

Air Traffic and Navigation Services (ATNS) is inviting applications from ambitious and dedicated South African youth to join its Trainee Programme 2025 / 2026. With 117 bursary opportunities available, this prestigious programme offers successful candidates the chance to receive top-tier aviation training at the Aviation Training Academy in Bonaero Park, Gauteng.

This is a full-time training opportunity designed to develop future professionals in air traffic services and related fields. Selected trainees will be placed in roles based on ATNS’s operational needs and will gain exposure to various aspects of air traffic management throughout the training period.

Available Trainee Streams

Successful applicants will be considered for one of the following streams:

  • Air Traffic Services Officer (ATSO)
  • Aeronautical Information Management Officer (AIMO)
  • Target Generating Officer (TGO)
  • Airport Management Centre (AMC) Liaison Officer
  • Simulator Support Officer (SSO)

Each stream offers unique training, mentorship, and hands-on experience to prepare you for a long-term career in aviation services.

Minimum Requirements

To qualify for the ATNS Trainee Programme, applicants must meet the following criteria:

  • Hold a Grade 12 / Matric certificate

  • Achieved at least:

    • Level 4 in Pure Mathematics (HG – D / SG – C or above)

    • Level 4 in English (HG – D / SG – C or above)

  • Must be a South African citizen with a valid ID

  • Be unemployed youth

  • Be medically fit and willing to undergo ATNS’s medical assessment (especially for ATSO stream)

  • Be willing to relocate anywhere in South Africa for placement

  • Attach a certified copy of Grade 12 results to your application
