The Human Sciences Research Council (HSRC) Internship Programme provides an exceptional opportunity for unemployed graduates to gain valuable work experience, mentorship, and exposure in their respective fields. The programme is designed to:
Provide hands-on work experience to graduates through mentorship and structured learning.
Facilitate the development of skills required for seamless entry into the job market.
Enable interns to apply and transfer their knowledge within their host institutions.
Offer exposure to research management, research support, and administration in public higher education and research institutions.
This 24-month internship programme is fully funded with a monthly stipend, managed through the HSRC.
We invite applications from unemployed South African graduates who meet the following criteria:
Citizenship: South African citizen or permanent resident with a valid SA ID.
Age: 35 years or younger at the time of appointment.
Education: Must hold a completed qualification in one of the following categories:
- NQF Level 7: Bachelor’s Degree, Advanced Diploma, or B-Tech Degree.
- NQF Level 8: Bachelor’s Honours Degree or Postgraduate Diploma.
- NQF Level 9: Master’s Degree or M-Tech.
Fields of Study: Candidates must hold a qualification in one of these disciplines: - Science
- Engineering
- Technology
- Research
- Development
- Innovation
- Social Sciences and Humanities
- Or related fields.
