Eskom Medupi Power Station is inviting applications for the Youth Employment Service (YES) Programme 2026. This initiative offers unemployed South African youth the opportunity to gain valuable workplace experience through a 12-month fixed-term contract in various administrative roles.The Youth Employment Service (YES) is a public-private initiative led by the Presidency to help address youth unemployment in South Africa. Through this programme, Eskom provides young people with meaningful work experience, practical skills, and exposure to the country's energy industry, helping them build a strong foundation for future employment.Successful applicants will be placed within Eskom Operations across various divisions and locations throughout South Africa.
To qualify for the Eskom YES Programme, applicants must:
- Be a South African citizen
- Be between 18 and 34 years old
- Have a Grade 12 (Matric) certificate or equivalent qualification
- Not have been permanently employed by a single employer for more than 12 consecutive months
- Not be studying full-time during the year of employment
- Not have previously participated in or registered for the Youth Employment Service (YES) Programme
- Be willing to participate in the recruitment and selection process
Successful candidates will assist with various administrative duties, which may include:
- Providing general office and administrative support
- Capturing and maintaining records and documentation
- Assisting with filing and document management
- Supporting departmental operations and daily office activities
- Preparing reports and administrative correspondence
- Performing data capturing and record-keeping tasks
- Following company policies, procedures, and safety standards
- Working collaboratively with team members across different Eskom divisions
