Job Description

The NWK Learnership Program is designed to provide unemployed youth and recent matriculants or graduates with theoretical training and practical workplace experience in the agribusiness industry. This structured learning program combines classroom-based education with on-the-job training, allowing learners to develop industry-specific skills while earning a recognized qualification.

Key Responsibilities
  • Attend structured classroom-based training as part of the learnership curriculum.
  • Gain hands-on experience in assigned NWK business units, including agriculture, retail, logistics, and finance.
  • Assist with daily operational tasks under the guidance of experienced professionals.
  • Participate in skills development workshops and mentorship programs.
  • Support administrative functions, including data entry, stock management, and customer service.
  • Work within agricultural production, grain handling, warehousing, or financial services depending on the chosen learnership field.
  • Ensure compliance with workplace policies, safety regulations, and industry standards.

Requirements

To qualify for the NWK Learnership Program, applicants must meet the following criteria:

  • Education:
    • Must have Matric (Grade 12) with Mathematics and English.
    • Some learnerships may require a National Diploma or Degree in a relevant field.
  • Age: Between 18 and 35 years old.
  • Skills & Attributes:
    • Strong communication and teamwork skills.
    • A passion for agribusiness, logistics, or finance.
    • Basic computer literacy (MS Office, email, internet).
    • Problem-solving abilities and eagerness to learn.
    • Ability to work independently and in a team.
  • Residency: Preference may be given to candidates residing in NWK’s operational areas.
  • Work Authorization: Must be a South African citizen or hold valid work authorization.
  • Availability: Must be available for the full duration of the learnership (typically 12 months).
