Job Description
The Department of Agriculture Internship Programme is designed for young graduates looking to gain hands-on experience in various agricultural fields. Interns will be exposed to different aspects of agricultural policy, research, administration, and rural development projects.

Key Responsibilities
- Assist in agricultural research, policy development, and rural support initiatives.
- Support administrative functions within different departmental units.
- Conduct fieldwork, data collection, and analysis for agricultural projects.
- Participate in sustainability, environmental, and food security programs.
- Work with farmers, cooperatives, and agribusinesses on development projects.
- Assist in developing and implementing agricultural education and awareness campaigns.
- Engage with stakeholders, including government agencies, NGOs, and research institutions.
Requirements
- Must be a South African citizen.
- Age: Between 18 and 35 years old.
- Must have a National Diploma or Bachelor’s Degree in one of the following fields:
- Agriculture or Agronomy
- Environmental Science
- Agricultural Economics
- Animal Science or Veterinary Science
- Food Science and Technology
- Horticulture
- Forestry
- Rural Development
- Supply Chain Management
- Business Administration
- Finance or Human Resources
- Strong analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Willingness to work in rural areas and engage with farming communities.
- Ability to work both independently and in a team.
- No prior formal work experience is required (entry-level internship).
Internship Duration & Benefits
