Key Responsibilities

Participants in the SAB Brewing In-Service Training Program will:

  • Assist with beer brewing, fermentation, and quality testing
  • Monitor and control brewing and packaging processes
  • Conduct laboratory tests to ensure product quality and consistency
  • Support process optimization and equipment maintenance
  • Learn about raw materials, yeast management, and fermentation processes
  • Work with teams to troubleshoot brewing and production challenges
  • Ensure compliance with safety, health, and environmental regulations
  • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives and projects
  • Document processes, collect data, and prepare technical reports
Qualifications & Requirements

To qualify for the SAB Brewing In-Service Training Program, candidates must:

  • Be a South African citizen
  • Be currently studying or have completed a Diploma or Degree in:
    • Chemical Engineering
    • Biotechnology or Microbiology
    • Brewing Science
    • Food Science & Technology
    • Mechanical or Electrical Engineering (related to brewing)
    • Related technical fields
  • Require work-integrated learning (WIL) experience to complete their qualification (if applicable)
  • Have a passion for brewing, production, and innovation
  • Possess strong analytical, problem-solving, and teamwork skills
  • Be detail-oriented with an ability to work in a fast-paced production environment
  • Have basic computer literacy (MS Office, Excel, etc.)
